When people come on this site and shout from the roof tops that the USD is losing its power I really have to laugh. Serioulsy guys - that will not happen in our lifetimes.
FACT - USD is still the most traded currency in the market (89% of the daily turnover)
FACT - 65% of all trade is achieved through the USD. Euro - 19%. Yuan only 9% (over the previous 12 months)
The so-called affect that the "new" BRICS will have on world economics will not happen. They have tried and failed dismally. China has realised it cannot survive without a sustainable relationship with the USA.
The balance of the core BRICS - Brazil, Russia, India & South Africa are all financially unstable and incapable of their own economies safely together. Two are constantly at war and one is essentially a war zone.
My 2c worth
