As someone who uses Ayurvedic medicinal practices in my private practice it is essential to know that Ayurvedic massage is more than a massage with just essential oil which is actually better known as a aromatherapy massage and not a Ayurvedic massage.
Anyone who truly practices Ayurvedic medicine will know about panchakarma which include herbal medicine found in India and Nepal, Yoga, massage and acupuncture.
Therefore a proper Ayurvedic massage would be adjusted to the clients personal needs and would include breathwork,Yoga, herbal presses and tinctures as well as acupuncture and mindfulness.
Which I do all except for acupuncture at this stage will eventually get there.
The trick is being able to listen to the body and give it what it needs and it's not just a rub and release it's a very deep meditative experience. Understanding why your body does what it does what it is you need to do more of as well as knowing which emotion sits where and why it's there this is really deep inner work.
As a result not many practice it in this industry and those who claim to have no certification to back up their claims. There's so much more about this there are the internal and external factors the meridians energy factors hot and cold I can get more technical and use Sanskrit but I don't want to get to technical or confuse anyone.
Just enlightening you.
