Is the forum that hostile of an environment that most times when newbies post there is always a 'please be gentle' or 'excuse my ignorance' type of into to their first posting?

Nope, the forum is an adult forum so it is not hostile at all. And with moderation and banning gentleness is enforced.

Dude we can always argue in moderation if u need to insult do not insult ppls mothers rather insult the mother inlaws I dont think they will take offence to that.
