I have done my top Cima, after completing my Bcom honours. One of the toughest qualifications to study for and damn expensive if you earning rands as everything must be paid in GBP. However, it is becoming a sort after qualification.

Kid knowing that you are gonna look after the family Business go and do a general MBA to understand how business operates. I don't see any purpose for you in doing am accountant qualification!

@jackribet let people achieve what they want mahn don't demoralise them
I guess it takes much higher qualification than a simple MBA to run the fam business

MBA's are diluted to the point where every taxi driver and his dog has got one.
BUT, done at a reputable university it will still provide you with a basic overview of business disciplines. You saying that you are in a successful family run business? That you would one day run? If I were you, finish that acca, get couple of years outside experience then go do that MBA at a UCT, WITS or Stellenbosch.

at the end of the day you should figure out what's best for you. I'm too deep into Cisco, Juniper, and the Tellabs of the world to contemplate studying again in another direction.

@ wooden heart. I stopped at MBA otherwise I would have done a lawyers degree or DBA. But you need to stop at one point and start working and create networking and PR. You can't be an everlasting student though you learn in every day if your life.
