Hi guys. Going to shanghai in january. Is it true that you can get blackmailed or beaten up by bouncers in shanghai. Some friends of mine were forced to pay usd 500 for 2 beers, failing which the bar owner would have had them beaten up. Ignorance is no excuse over there.

Ive heard some stories about shanghai but never experienced any funny business there myself. The stories are generally from the really dodgy backstreet clubs there.

If there's no local friend looking after you there, don't do anything stupid. The girls you thought you can fuck might order drink and food costing USD 1000+ before you touched her hand. If you didn't pay, the owner beat you down to the ground. Don't expect the cops would save your ass. They owner can wait out side of the police station and beat you again...

If you know where to go, man the girls there are really nice. Prepare enough money, they charge USD500/hour for foreigners.

Look up M1NT, its aclub we went to in a tall building, all colours and sorts hanging out there. Many wgs also some post op thais so be weary if thats nit your thing. They Started from about U$D200 up to about U$D600.

I was in Shanghai four months ago and there's a sort of quiet crackdown (this happens every so often) and it's driving up prices.

I don't think you'd be scammed in those places, but that comes at a premium.

There are lots of decent places and wgs but pricey, but pls watch out there is a lot of blackmailing.

Also google Shanghai Nightlife guide and read what they have there, pretty reliable. Many pubs and bar's where girls hang around, I have seen some gorgeous women from around the world in bars in Shanghai and Beijing. Shanghai has a great nightlife and you will surely manage there. Beijing might be a bit restricted but places like Maggie's etc have some stunning working girls hanging around the bar.
