When that day comes and you call them for help I hope you just end up with a recording of pigs snorting. Todays lesson was wrong on so many levels I am struggling to work out where to start...

Sales Tax (GST in particular) is a system that is actually older then salary taxation. They are actually a very fair way of ensuring everyone pays taxes in my opinion... The more luxuries you buy, the more you pay... nothing wrong with that.

SARS is actually one of the last bastions of efficiency in SA these days, If they had gone the same way as SAA we would have much more serious problems on our hands... I am grateful they work as well as they do, after all, there are a lot of us who actually get money back at the end of the financial year and as a small business owner that is never a bad thing.
