I almost had a similar situation with a non-wg I met on a dating site. She was persistent from the get go. Received messages that she's about to be out in the street if she doesn't pay her rent, even photos of an empty fridge. And then in the same breath she'd ask to get her nails and hair done. I called bullshit and realised the con was on. I blocked her fast. She managed to get hold of me again and wanted to know what the issue was and I told her I didn't sign up to be her provider. She pretended to be insulted that I would even think she's after money, but apologised and said she's not like that she was just in a bad space when we met. Immediately she has an emergency again and asks for money. Blocked her in every possible way and haven't heard from her since.

Lol eish I was at the lowest point in my life and was just making reckless decisions because I didn't care anymore. Some business partners betrayed me and I had just left my first stable relationship. So when she came into my life I was a mess.

When we first met (before we had sex), we had a good 2 hour conversation and she sold me dreams and I guess I thought I could save her(hahaha) but then I realised that she's a pathological liar.

When she accused me of being the reason she's not getting new clients, she essentially said because of me she'll go to bed on an empty stomach and she won't be able to help her "sick" mother and young sister who are dependent on her. Even thought it wasn't my fault I felt horrible. So she knew I had a soft spot and always use it to guilt trip me into sending more money.

Funny thing is she's still trying to reach out to me as recently as last week. I guess she's struggling to find a sane man who will put up with her bullshit.

I dare say this is exclusively a South African issue.
