I understand why deposits are sometimes requested --- particularly for new clients, clients who have previously cancelled, or bookings outside normal working hours,travels.
Unfortunately, no-shows do happen, and they waste time and resources.

That said, taking a deposit and then ghosting a client is completely unacceptable and highly unprofessional. If a service cannot be provided, clear communication and a prompt refund are the bare minimum.

Behaving this way damages trust and reflects badly on the industry as a whole. Situations like this should be called out and reviewed honestly on profiles, as it helps protect new clients and promotes higher professional standards.

Sorry Esabella I don't agree with you. DONT PAY A DEPOSIT is what I say. Clients that don't show up are A holes, but this is a highly volatile industry and one should expect that behavior and learn to live with. It's not going to change. Even in the corporate / business world these things happen. Block them and just move on.

If a WG insists on a deposit, just move on. You're gonna get burnt.

Yeah, beeeg problem even with what appeared to be reputable lady. paid for voucher and then get ghosted whenever I try make appt. Will name and shame on Monday if she has not refunded me.
