Finally got some time to visit Bangkok for some fun. Busy booking flights now.

Anyone been there recently. Is it really visa free (per google) or visa on entry?

Any guidance would be appreciated..

Where in Bkk you are staying?.

Before you go, download the following apps.

Line - their version of whatsapp. Most girls use it to communicate and when prompted for your line Id you can easily share it.

Wechat - similar to line, less used. Has this handy feature where you can find girls within close proximity. If specifically looking for a wg you set status as "looking for freelancer" and let the fun begin, you can get overwhelmed especially at about 2am when establishments close and girls have not found a customer. Picking can be slim but still good and prices are cheaper.

Grab - their version of Uber.

At the airport - taking a taxi to the hotel, you need cash. Taxis don't take card. Budget about 1200 baht for ride to hotel.

There is a website called thaifriendly.com - no shortage of profiles of girls looking for bf and freelancers looking for customers. Cheap membership fee and worth having. Just note when contacting girls on this site they will quickly ask if you are in town. They won't waste their time if you are not.

No visa for South africans. If you travel via Ethiopia or Kenya then you will need a yellow fever vaccine. If you're flying via any of the middle east airlines then you're good to go. It helps to show them your return flights and accommodation booking at the immigration counter so they ask less questions.

Go to Pattaya, I've been there 4 times for nye it never disappoints!!!

Grab is best option to move around in Bangkok and generally in Thailand I found. Even from airport.

Bolt isn't bad either. You can also request a motorbike to pick you up although they don't come with a spare helmet so if you fall bad news. It is quite quick though and cuts through all that nasty traffic.
