10% deposit I would say is hardly a risk from the punter's side compared to a reputable service provider's risk on loosing credibility and client trust and thus not worth pulling a quick one.

For service providers that doesn't sell quickies especially, the impact of a no show is devastating.
I personally had 3 no shows in one day several times before implementing my 10% deposit requirement for new clients.

Yes Sage! The consequences of no shows can be devastating for us.

The deposit I ask for covers the fee of the guesthouses I book for sessions. If the client prefers, he is welcome to book the guesthouse instead.

I need to know my clients are just as committed to showing up for a good time, as I am.

If that it too risky, I get it. We've all been burned.

Find an SP who is willing to hold the risk for you.
