All debt agreements entered into since 2017 are covered by "Debt Protection Insurance Policy".
African Bank is the only bank telling there customers about it. You don't need a "debt holiday", the insurance policy will cover your installments. Check your policies, don't get fooled by your bank.

Hi all
If you are permanantly employed but are not receiving any income from your employer, i.e. unpaid leave etc...then check your credit agreement schedule with your bank as you may qualify for a claim against that policy which for some banks will cover your monthly repayments up to 12 months. DONT OPT FOR THE PAYMENT HOLIDAY before exhausting other alternatives.

If you look at your statement from the bank it will show a premie for the DPIP. These are mostly standard and will cover you for up to 12 months as Knightrider has indicated.
They will not invoke the protection till you apply. I had to make FNB aware of my policy with them, before they were prepare to activate it.
