I had to leave the country for this to happen.
Those were the days when you could still go to prison for relations over the colour line.
I had a client in Malawi and I went there for a stint of 8 months.
Every evening I would sit in the hotel's pub and there was always a smattering of ladies hanging around.
For the first 6 weeks or so inhibitions and reasoning made me keep to myself and ignore the ladies.
And then, one evening after a bad day, to much G&T removed the inhibitions and reasoning and I took the plunge.
Needless to say - once the seal is broken you keep on leaking and I had a glorious time.
Coming back to South Africa was a bit of a bother because within the borders it was still illegal.
