Some light hearted banter, but certainly a sign of the times in this day and age. I was in Pretoria on Wednesday with an hour or so to burn, so decided to visit my favourite venue for some R&R. I pulled out my punting phone to make a booking and sadly noted it had a flat battery. Having no charging plug in the hire car and no battery pack in the car, I thought I'd pop over and ring the door/gate bell! Well that didn't help as there was no bell at the large gates! I then grabbed my laptop and plugged the phone in to charge, but this was taking time so I had a call to make:
Use my phone or let fate decide that now wasn't a good time to visit the Venue.....Big Head v Little Head! Big Head is far behind on this score over the years!

I am proud to say that the BIG Head won this debate and I sadly drove away with no post-nut concerns! I must be growing up!

Oh, it may be an idea for venues to have an intercom at the gate!

You could have set your phone to private number and phoned if you were desperate enough but this was probably the better option.

Congrats on the victory, It takes will power in these situations.

my phone doesn't allow that option for some reason.....I did try this too.

Good show of restraint. My little brain has taken me places I wouldn't even go if I had a gun lol.

Happened to me recently, went to Joburg and called 9 WG's (regulars and new). All their phones were either off, or they didn't pick up or if they picked up they were not available. I should have called it a night and go to sleep (Big brain) but I didn't wanna give up (little brain). The 10th person that I called gave me the worst experience, 2 minutes in I was already regretting the money I just wasted. Learnt to trust Big brain sometimes

However there are good reasons some venues don't have intercoms at the gate :))
