If the body is already speaking...
Then perhaps the question isn't whether it knows.
Perhaps it's whether I'm listening.
My body never seems to leave the present.
It breathes without reminding itself.
It feels without rehearsing.
It exists exactly where it is.
Yet my attention rarely joins it.
I'm usually somewhere else---replaying what has happened or anticipating what hasn't.
Maybe presence isn't forcing myself into the moment.
Maybe it's the quiet act of returning to where my body has been waiting all along.
Not to change what I feel.
Not to judge it.
Simply to witness it.
Because perhaps some parts of the body only reveal themselves when they're no longer being interrupted.
