100% spot on. Well they don't spend millions in the research, 10's of thousands and occasionally 100's. Millons is for like rebranding or balrsnd rationalization and stuff.
But that's exactly it. They aiming at a segment and what appeals to that segment. When that marketing doesn't appeal to you, it simply means it was not meant for you. You are not the target market. As someone who's done stuff like this for decades, I can say I've put together marketing I find completely unappealing and even ludacris to me. But I'm not the target. And it's been very successful where it matter with the target market. Some of the most terrible bit if marketing I have pushed out has been the most successful because that's where the volume and money is.
