BRILLIANT!!!!
unfortunately I cannot give credit to the writer as it was not signed off.
**********
I don't mother quietly.
My kids know my voice.
They know my laugh, my sarcasm, my frustration, my softness.
They know that emotions don't have to be whispered to be valid.
I don't tiptoe through motherhood trying to be palatable.
I don't water myself down so I look easier to digest.
I don't believe love has to be silent to be safe.
My home is loud sometimes.
Not chaotic in a careless way... loud in a living way.
Music playing, opinions shared, feelings felt all the way through.
I let my kids see me human.
Resting when I need to.
Speaking up when something matters.
Owning my mistakes instead of pretending I don't make them.
I'm not raising kids to shrink themselves for comfort.
I'm raising kids who know their voices belong to them.
So no... I don't mother quietly.
I mother honestly.
And my kids don't need a softer version of me.
They need the real one.
