It might not be her. Girls seem to be taking any number that enquires from them and selling it.

Unless the scammer specifically mentioned her name, it could be anyone really

It might not be her. We had 'cops' call us and mention a girl's name and when we said that girl wasn't working, started reading off the list of names of the girls in the Bryanston area.

When these guys ask for numbers, they specifically ask for numbers of clients who enquired or didn't show up for a booking.

I think the scammers have access to people at cell networks who can get call records.

Since I have switch to WhatsApp only, I have never received another "police" call.

There was someone who I called and I got a call from "captain" a week later. I initially assumed it was her but feedback from other punters have led me to believe she wasn't involved. Hence the only other possibility is access to call logs(which is why WhatsApp only hasn't resulted in any calls)

Why would a "cop " call you if you if you enquired, or didn't show up for a booking ?.No fake notes changed hands and the WG hasn't even met the client.

Because they are hoping the WG will give up numbers that don't matter to her. Not a regular client or someone shopping around. Then they claim that the WG is laying a charge but they think its fake so just pay a bribe to make it go away.

They used to often call houses and tell the girls a client is accusing them of something and if they send a screenshot of their call log, they can prove he didn't call or something like that. The girls soon picked up on it and so they resorted to trying and bribing the girls. We often get calls/messages and we say no. It's been well discussed that the guys don't pay the girls for the numbers so if its any consolation to the clients, the girls don't get rewarded by the scammer either. The net is tightening on them and they are struggling to come up with new ways to get numbers.

The truth is that some women who work in the sex industry sell their clients' phone numbers. After a visit to one of my former regulars I started receiving calls and texts from "SAPS". When I confronted her about it, she admitted to selling client's phone numbers to scammers for a substantial sum of money. Let's not deceive ourselves by thinking that these scammers obtain phone numbers through means like hacking or stealing them from cellular networks. In reality, it's a straightforward business transaction where sex workers sell their clients' contact information to scammers for a profit.
