guys wanna visit in the dark??? got candles. New power plant is what is needed and we aint gonna see that in our lifetime, will cost trillions and years and years to build. so LS is with us forever. Lovely country.....used to be!!

Agree.. We're beyond the tipping point. The only solution, albeit a poor one as it do not address most issues , is to generate your own.

I am so grateful everyday that I don't have load shedding. But feel the frustration when I am traveling to areas that are affected by it.
After years of travelling in Africa to Zim, Zam and DRC.
We are still the lucky one's.... But I don't know for how much longer.

While working in Nigeria the drone of generators became white noise.

Only option is to build your own backup solution.
1. Full solar with battery backup (Most expensive)
2. Battery Backup to selected circuits (Affordable)
3. Portable battery backup - run extensions (Cheapest)
The golden rule is to size the unit appropriately, get the right equipment from a trusted installer. A lot of cowboys doing scary stuff in people's houses...
