@UnlikelySuspect and Johnny English: I hear you both and pretty much agree regarding the abuse of power inco and the inconsistencies /errors sometimes even arrogance of some members of government.

The unbanning of alcohol while the cigarette ban is still being enforced makes very little sense.

Being the eternal optimist i was just trying to draw something positive from a negative situation.

I hear you, I also like to look for positives in a negative environment. But if we all merely accept all the "rules" from the government, we will soon have no freedom left.

Weed was legalised not too long ago, so all these rules and regulations will probably 'go up in smoke' anyway

That "legalisation" (decriminalization for private ownership) had more to do with privacy laws than a change in perception.

Nonetheless, there's a stronger case for weed actually being legal than cigarettes and alcohol. Cigarettes and alcohol present NO health benefits whatsoever - they make everything worse. Weed on the other hand has proven medicinal benefits.

Alot of people have started smoking weed cos it's easily obtainable and cheaper than cigarettes at the moment. Hence i said (with pun intended) that the rules and regulations will probably 'go up in smoke'

So the ANC's queen mother has imposed her will and was favorable assisted by her state capture associates in John Hlope to get the upper hand on smokers. As everyone knows this has fuck all to do with the health and safety of smokers during COVID-19, but more to do with muscle flexing within the ANC. The annual tax revenue is predicted to fall by R300bn for this year, of which the tobacco industry is a major contributor by way of 'sin taxes'. The only way the government is going to make up for this shortfall is by borrowing at excessive rates and to tax the public more. When this happens, constitutional challenges are going to bring the chickens home to rooste when NDZ will be blamed for sheer stupidity (which is the benchmark of all ANC cunts). Be prepared for more drama in the coming months.

Wrong, go read the judgement again. The judge said himself that his ruling does not legalise weed and it gives transgressors a reason to stay of prosecution until the law is put in place. It will only become legal when uncle cyril signs on the dotted line. You can still end up in jail after uncle cyril has signed it into law depending on if you fall under the legal or illegal part.

Provide evidence of weeds so called medicinal benefits. Currently there are only 3 (1. People with MS, 2. People with certain chronic pain, 3. people with nausea due to chemotherapy) and they are considered mild and weed is only used for these conditions if conventional medicine has failed. At no point is weed used as a first line treatment for any condition. It is illegal to do so in all countries and the same will be in South Africa.Other than that, so far any other medical properties is non existent.

Cannabis (weed, marijuana) ;
Cannabis - cannabinoids :

We not taught this at school but as humans we all have an endocannabinoid
system which is a biological system composed of endocannabinoids, which are endogenous lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors, and cannabinoid receptor proteins that are expressed throughout the vertebrate central nervous system and peripheral.

The endocannabinoid system is a molecular system responsible for regulating and balancing many processes in the body, including immune response, communication between cells, appetite and metabolism, memory, and more.

The countless benefits provided by cannabis can be researched by simply going onto YouTube, type in "cannabis" and the illness or ailment, from epilepsy to cancer etc , and you'll be surprised.
