It certainly does have more implications than just being evicted. For both sides.

As a property owner. I myself cannot just evict my tenants because I need to cut my costs by going to stay in my own house. They have been renting from me for over 9 years. With no problems. Am I gonna risk loosing good people or am I gonna make my situation now work for me.

I am renting, because i want to be in be in gaugteng and not in north west where my property is.

As I said my landlord has made some arrangements to at least minimize impact if God for bid I or any of other tenants should get to a point where we can't pay.

I have gone and done the same. For now neither me or the tenants in my house are there yet. I will probably get there when they get there because right now I use my income from my property to pay my rent where I am renting.

This is not a good situation. But people should just be a bit more responsible with their money now and make it work. Because as much as landlords want to just let you ride this wave out and be leaniant we are also dependent on that income. I for one will be screwed should my tentants stop paying. As this will result in me having trouble paying. I hope it never comes to that but chances are it will at some point. So while we still okay let's take care of our rent.

This post was actually NOT meant to be about rentals AT ALL, but everyone should be in isolation for 6 weeks! 6 weeks to contain this virus! Instead of years of havoc because NO one is listening and doing their own thing.

Point is despite intimidation and harassment that many land lords may use, if this law gets passed and you are not earning an income because you are stopping this virus by being in isolation, there is nothing they can do!

BUT the point of this post is NOT about rentals, it was how do working girls who have NO income feed their children during this time ! People should stop making this about money when it effects whether children are eating or not! Or whether working girls are spreading this virus so they never manage to contain it, it literally effects everyone! Who cares about evicting one set of tenants when NO one can work because we aren't stopping this virus by stopping personal contact?

I'm sure when you're paying for a white elephant with no tenants because no one listened or had an ounce of humanity and you can't sell the properties, maybe a few weeks of taking a knock might seem like child's play.

And about being black listed, if this gets passed by the rental tribunal by government you WILL not be able to use that avenue again harassment and intimidation tactics, YOU are not above the law!

I have my own family, two kids included to take care of and worry about ensuring that get to eat ... and based on a decision that was made by the company I work for which sees me scrambling financially ... don't just assume that punters are not finding theme selves in very difficult financial positions.

Balasbak I am under no delusion that this isn't effecting everyone, your responsibility is to your children and family first, however their are ladies who will be forced to work just to pay for a loaf of bread. As we have seen, most people can afford to stock pile. Making sure someone has a loaf of bread a day will not bankrupt most punters. You don't need to spend hundreds, even "donating" bread and milk a day is enough. I am definitely In the same boat as every other working girl, but if someone isn't eating I would never deny them food. It's the humane thing to do, all I'm asking is punters to be aware of the ladies with children. I am not one of these ladies as my children's father and my family are amazing. But there are a lot of girls who take care of all their family members who will now not be able to eat.

Are you aware of how many people starve in SA on a day to day basis? Why is now any different?
