Perhaps the 'punters remorse' should be re-named 'punters guilt'. The remorse is surely brought on by the guilt you are feeling for doing what you did. Now, obviously not all punters feel guilty after a punt but those who do feel this deep sense of guilt and depression is due to what they actually allowed themselves to 'sink' to. Its how I sometimes felt after punts. The guilt of cheating, the guilt of perhaps picking up some desease, the guilt of being found out, the guilt of stepping over what is seen as 'immoral' all adds up to that 'remorse'. BUT heres the upshot: after 3-5 days the 'excitement' of the hunt returns. The excitement of trying and getting something illicit is overwhelming and we all succumb to it....one last time....
