Look, it works like this. If you are prepared to take someone else's money upfront prior to providing a service, irrespective if that money was willingly given to you, you are scamming people out of money. I can elaborate on this at length but just to provide ONE simple little example is this. You have already been paid for a service you have not provided. You have no motivation or reason to provide a service that equals the service you would have provided had you not yet received the money for aforementioned service. In other words, you can provide a lame duck service to the client or fuck his brains out or ghost him yet no matter how you look at it you hold all the bargaining chips. You cannot put the cart before the horse and expect the same performance. Get real. If you advocate for a "deposit" you are just moments away from scamming someone so please don't try and convince everyone of just how honest your criminal activity is.

Just on the point of deposits.

I personally have paid the entire booking amount in advance on a few occasions and have not yet been scammed.

I have had issues with ladies that borrow money and say they will give me a session, which for some reason has never been honoured, because when it comes to the booking, either the lady is busy, or if I can pay her on that day and have the booking that was paid for In advanced/borrowed another time.

But when it comes to deposits I think it goes both ways, as much as we are weary of the lady scamming us, I think some SPs also just need to make sure that we show up, rather than them booking a guest house, or getting all dolled up only for a no show in which case that is make up wasted, probably a room booked which money never gets compensated either.

Thank goodness not everybody is of the same thought or mentality

And like anything in life....those that are professional will ride the crest and continue working with the support of many ...deposit or not.

Is your business registered with the CIPC? Do you have a tax clearance certificate? Do you pay income tax? Do you have annual audited financial statements? Are you a registered financial service provider? Do you have an interest bearing account for this so-called "retainer"? And so I can go on. If not, then don't talk shit to me about deposits, retainers, honesty, integrity, professionalism or any of that kak. What you are involved in is a criminal racket but you feel you have the intellect to chirp others the odds here. Stay in your lane.

This discussion can go both ways, as for myself I won't travel without my bolt/Uber being paid. Or a deposit for that matter. I had a outbooking, client gave wrong address, did not honour the booking. I had to pay the bolt fees.And wasted my time. Imaging I had to fly down to Cape Town without a deposit.
On the otherhand I am aware of ladies not honoring content, and deposits paid, in this case, name and shame them so they can get out of Esa.
