It shows that men who behave like this are often insecure and wounded due to underlying vulnerability/trauma caused by for example absent fathers, harsh upbringings, etc. and use exaggerated "alpha" behaviour to mask insecurities.

That's precisely what it is, I believe it's either a combo of mommy and daddy issues, or most likely just mommy issues. Their mothers never gave them the time of day, and that's why they feel it's okay to speak of women in this manner. Shame man, must be tough.
