I don't think you can say it smells like any specific thing really. I've never liked the colloquial "fish" smell description, because I feel it's said from a derogatory point of view, yet we eat fish right. And also I think a vagina does not carry the same scent always, if you've been in a long term relationship, you know that even your partner does not have the same scent all the time. My very conservative ex-wife would get so freaked out whenever I'd ask to breathe deeply into her panties lol!

But to answer your "enquiry" specifically (by the way is this for academic research? There's actually olfactory studies around different scents. Lol); the closest description I can come up with is "pungent". Like for instance, if you go hiking during the day and there's a lot of sweating and activity, or you pick up a girl from the club and you guys have been dancing the whole night. Then you get home and instead of showering first you proceed to have sex, the scent is a little bit different, it's more sweaty. This is just one example.

I'd love to give more examples based on my limited experience with vaginas over the years. But some extremist maniac is gonna come here with a narrow mind and say that we are being vulgar or objectifying women Phil. But my understanding is that you're making an interesting (although quite random) post and we're all adults here. I remember that kinda smell a guys balls when sweaty smells like achar and the woman smells like fish kinda like having a meal. Fish and achar.

From my observation and experience, it isn't a single fixed smell. When a woman is aroused, the scent is usually subtle and natural, it's warm, slightly musky and faintly sweet or earthy.

It's not unpleasant at all, if anything, it's part of the body's natural chemistry and can be quite appealing. Like perfume, it varies from person to person and even from moment to moment.
