I don't want to start an argument here, but I do believe that socials do have some shortcomings and this is not as a result of the arrangements being made on an administrative side.
One problem is the limited number of people attending, especially women and as far as women are concerned all the different population groups should be represented. Currently the majority is white.
As stated by @UsedCondom the majority of attendees can be categorized as the same older males.
Another problem is location, some persons belonging to the purple world is from as far as Cape Town and Durban while the majority of socials are being held in the Pretoria/Johannesburg area. At the same time there has been people that travelled long distances and spent a lot of money in order to attend.
A benefit of socials is that it promotes donations towards welfare as attendees are specifically asked to do so/sometimes it forms part of the entrance fee. Then there is also cases where there is no entrance fee.
Notwithstanding the problems, I support Socials, a meet and greet with those on the purple pages while having fun like a nice chat, a braai and a nice swim. And don't worry if you see your boss /colleagues /friends there, they are just as "guilty" as you are.
Unfortunately I missed the last one.
In short, it is our responsibility to make socials a huge success, it is being held to entertain us. To allow for the most people to attend the Socials are usually being arranged for Thursdays while any inputs on the tread about an upcoming Social receives consideration.
There is even rooms available at the Socials that can be used by Punters and SPs or MGs so the possibility of work is there, but a definite is marketing important and the opportunity for it is there.
So I want to ask all to get yourself to all the Socials, and have one hell of a time;-)

I can see myself going to the next social during day-time hours. Would love to attend and see what it's about!

Hi,not at all.
Nobody is forced to go to a social.
Socials only happen x2 annually.
It's a great oppurtunity to do something different for a couple of hours, distract yourself from the rat race,meet beautiful ladies and like minded people,have some drinks and good food which is always available.
Take the blinkers off and enjoy the occasion.
If not join me on the golf course.

So honestly,is it a bit awkward? For sure.

BUT...

It is an amazing free opportunity for the ladies to dress up and market themselves. We get to meet and mingle with our peers,the Esa team, and future potential lovers! It's great exposure for the girlies and also great for gents,if only to help comprehend what you want and absolutely do not want.

@usedcondom... You giving narssistic sp vibes, who maybe got left in the corner for a reason? Why the hate?

I got to the last one a bit late. It was a little awkward at first, but you settle in fast.

Was interesting seeing some of the SPs "in the flesh" as it were. Gives you more of an indication of how much the photos can deceive you.

Also a fun game to try recognise the SP and put a name to the person in front of you.

I only realised who Miss Yoga Pantyhose was after I got home. I was like she looks familiar and then at home it was like, oh, yes, her.

She looks just like her photos. Very nibbleable.
