I don't think you did anything wrong OP, just commenting in general on "gate etiquette" amd relaying my experience. And what's worse in your case it was a private house, so you would expect for there to be a "system" between Gateman and SP. But sounds like you saved yourself a horrible experience given her response afterwards.

She even sms'd the address after the call and called 10 minutes later to confirm I'm coming and told her I'm nearly there. Get to the complexed call, no answer. After a few calls, the phone was off. Still waited outside that complex trying to call for over half an hour thinking maybe her phone just died or something before leaving. Couple hours later she's showing as available now in Edenvale. Didn't even get an apology message, nothing. Even posted about it on the forum later that day and she didn't even bother responding there.

Only time you should be hooting and drawing attention is when you're in a dangerous spot where they try and scam for "exit code fees" after luring you with false offers. Has to do that once as a last resort before getting ready to throw down with the pimp and rip the gate of the rails with my handy tools. Luckily the hooting worked before it came to that.

When I read it I don't see the joke and I have a sense of humor. To me I see bad gate etiquette right there.
