Okay so my question is.... she booked the room the night before. What would happen if he cancelled at the last minute or was a no show? Is she responsible for the payment then? What if the potential client was a new client and a no show what happens then to recuperate the money.

I don't condone what she did but this dude is no upstanding client if he does not pay his way. After paying him back the money she still ended up paying the agency out of her pocket because the punter was not a reputable guy in this case.

What I was looking for here was some sort resolution. What sort of resolution is acceptable to me is entirely my business - this was never about the money for me (I'm not one of those guys who think that R3000 is nothing, but if I can afford to spend it on a punt then I'm also obviously not that much in need of it to like survive). I said multiple times that if she had asked me, I would have paid in. What I wanted was to know what the hell happened, how it went from "I'm looking for a guest house now" to me sitting in a coffee shop, completely ghosted (and probably an apology). A refund was bottom of my list of acceptable resolutions.

Sad to see the delectable lady has since not renewed her advertisement.
