Which brings me back to this thread: Kate's standing me up. The sudden 180 from getting on well to "I don't feel comfortable seeing you" finally makes sense. Despite the conclusions that some have joyously leapt to, I am not a creeper/stalker. I have not mistaken a transactional arrangement for love. I know exactly what this is, and I respect the boundary which is partly why I found the whole situation so bizarre and wanted an explanation. She probably should have called/messaged me that day (and she has apologised for that) but given that she may well have been not just uncomfortable but actually afraid maybe that is also understandable.
As far as the deposit is concerned: I have been absolutely convinced that there is no doubt from the whatsapp conversations that it was clear that it was a deposit for the overnighter. Only one person took me up on my offer to share the whatsapps and that person has pointed out to me that there is enough ambiguity in at least one of the threads for somebody to mis-interpret it, especially when you remember that Kate's first language is not English. So on that point, it looks like it could really be just a miscommunication.
Thank you for this!!! Now the ladies name can be cleared except for her profile is now down. I hope she comes back after this saga. Perhaps she will start a new because her reputation has been tarnished.
