While the majority of us are lockdown and without an income. Not to mentioned the millions who are unemployed and starving. Is this lockdown realistic.

This lockdown was just to give government time to:
1. Get their house a bit in order
2. Build some ventilators
3. Work on a plan how they are going to remove the corpses (why else do you think the Armybwas increased to 75000)
4. Decide location of mass graves...

Mr3 i think you should look at the stats especially in Sweden where the government took very little action and you will see that the death rate is actually very low , most people dying here in the next few months will be of starvation

Not going to go into a debate, but a massive amount of HIv, TB and other related diseases have significant high comorbidity with Covid19. Fact of the matter is, all is going to gwt it, either this year or next year.

Actually the research is pointing to the fact that patients on ARVs, as well as anyone born in SA post 1973 (as they all received the BCG vaccine against TB) are significantly more protected against SARS-Cov-19. Current projections estimate around 40% of the population will get the disease within the space of 5 years (provided no cure and/or vaccine is found) and of those 40% less then 80 000 over 5 years ultimately die. Less then seasonal flu.

Sweden should not be a model to follow for S.A.. As Sweden has excellent health care systems compared to S.A... . Just saying...

Can't compare any country to another. Too many variables.

True. But it was not necessary to extend the original 3 weeks. They should have gotten their ducks in a row during the first 3 weeks.

Ducks in a row? In SA? Only time the ducks will form a row is when something is handed out for free.

Someone will be able to answer this thread title with a reasonable degree of accuracy based on facts.

In about a year from now.
