I had the same on Monday.

But he called me Mr.(fake true caller name). I started laughing when he said in a heavy Afrikaans accent "you know about prostitutes". I just cut the call and blocked him.

Labeled his number in true caller.

Law enforcement is so screwed, some of these calls for this scam are made from police stations but they use an alias. Some even use information from the SAPS database, if you have been arrested or laid a complaint/charge at SAPS.

Sad state of affairs.

Don't entertain their calls at all. When you are rude or you call them out, they get motivated to harrass you with multiple numbers and also try to blackmail you.

This is assuming you don't enjoy the thrill of toying with them.

I had a very aggressive call one Sunday morning some time ago. He was aggressively asking me if I had visited a brothel in the past months (which I hadn't - just my usual independent). As he had my name wrong I put the phone down and told him to F-Off. He tried to call again and I texted "Fxxx Off you Scamming C..T" and blocked him. Never heard anything more.

Keep on blocking and updating with Truecaller.... They're probably never gonna stop .. I'm buying myself a whistle...when they call...I will just take a deep breath and blow his eardrums to Kingdom come

Since the last time... probably a month ago, I haven't been contacted... I really cursed so ugly...he mentioned to a friend (Wg) I work alongside, that I'm a piece of shit mLungu.... LoL.... We had such fun telling him to go get.......f..d by a dog
