I would like for someone to break my general perception on why a sp would want to be in this industry.
I always assumed that a person is broken, by their family chucking them out the house. Some ladies are hooked on drugs.
Or maybe they got pregnant by mistake and they have not finished studying for their degree?
You tell me!

My perception is the above plus what a lady can earn in this industry compared to if they worked for a company. And they can be their own boss.

1. Desperation, to survive and to support their loved one's.

2. High rate of unemployment in SA.

Don't firget that prostituion is one of the oldest occupations that exists, and there is no shame in it.

Honestly, whatever you can imagine, thats how we landed here. I don't like talking about it. Probably cos I think my story is way too boring. Its nowhere near the story of being kicked out, falling pregnant, being on drugs and all the drama people believe. People wanna believe we all have that wild story and in my experience very few ladies have the dramatic account that people expect..... kinda like guys think we fuck all day, watch porn all day, only have sexworkers for friends, only wear lingerie and tight fitting minis.
When guys ask I usually make up the story as I go along. I am very identifiable by my story. Thats why I don't tell it cos mine is a bit different.... and boring by all accounts
Edit- if we tell.our true stories and its not a sad, sordid story, nobody believes us anyway.

It all happened last year December. First Covid and then a Retrenchment letter. Being a Single Mother, being the only child that takes care of her parents.. what does one do ?

So with my brave huge heart I sat down with the lovely owner of Les Boudoir ( Wendywood ) and had a heart to heart conversation.

Of course. Its a no-brainer.

It was just out of interest from my side. I always thought they made a lot of money, but after being in this forum for some time, there's a bit of people which are not coping to pay their bills.

I thought a job in corporate you could probably get around 20 to 30k on average. And people who charge 1.5k per hour to get to 30k, you have to suck 20 dicks to get there... I would not suck 20 dicks to only get 30k....
