So this morning I got a call from a guy claiming to be a detective from a certain police station in Pmb.

He spoke very nicely and seemed convincing with the sound of a police radio in the background.

He asked were I was on the 5th of this month and went on to say that a case has been opened against me. He first spoke about how embarrassing and detrimental such a case could be for me especially if I'm married.

He then goes to tell me that the case was opened by a lady who I booked for some services and that I paid her with fake notes.

At this stage I realized its the scam that I've read somewhere.

So I get his name and the station he claims to be from. I told him I'll call him back.

I went to the station and asked for the detective by that name. I met the detective and asked him about the phone call. He was shocked that his name was used but was not shocked about that scam.

I then called the number in front of him and spoke to the guy. When I told him I'm sitting with the only detective by that name in that station he cut the call.

The number is now off.

I know the girl but she's not on this site. I also saved this guy's number.

The real detective told me that many guys are getting caught by this scam and that they are only realising it and coming to the station after paying thousands of Rands.

Good on you!

Just remember, working girls are being robbed of their phones and this is on the increase.

The criminal proceeds to go through the phone and blackmail the client's who had made bookings via sms or whatsapp.

I am sure there are desperate sp's who actually give the details to the criminal, but mostly they are actually booking with them to steal phones.

I am so pleased that you caught on and put him in his place. Its the same person, he uses different numbers all the time.

This thing is happening every day all over the country.

She is not from this site you said have you reported her to the site admin of the site that she is working from?

I truly hope you have.

Yes you where aware of this happening and did absolutely the right thing. But some other punter out there is gonna fall for this and end up blackmailed out of hard earned money if you don't report her to that site so they can remove her from their platform.

While you at it. Email that info to Esa to so they can have a look and see if she maybe has a profile under another name or maybe has one connected to that number so they can stop her from coming here if she gets kicked of other site.

What Lesley is true we as some girls report phones being stolen.. which is sad.

But this is also becoming way to common lately. Who leaves their values laying around where a stranger can get his hands on it and leave with it without you noticing.

I said this on ladies forum . Ladies need to wake up . We are in one of the most unpredictable most dangerous professions in the world allowing strangers into our spaces daily. Stop living in lala land thinking your princesses and every guy that walks through your door is a prince and no harm will come to you or your belongings.

Even if the phone is stolen you are still responsible to an extent if your client ends up blackmailed. Because if a punter can't trust you to look after the most important tool of your trade , your phone, how must he trust you to keep him and his details safe.

Think about that before you let your phones in sight again before having a stranger in your space again.

So the scam has finally come to KZN. Being a Durban boy myself i finally received the call about a month ago.

i just laughed and told him i know about his lil scam. I must admit he was so professional, polite and calm if i hadnt read about it on this forum i would have been a bit concerned.

So he asks me if i think this is a joke. i said yes and the jokes on you. He was still very polite in saying "have a good day" before ending the call . lol.

Now even for an experienced punter like myself who is not married and has very lil to lose hearing the words" rape charge against you" is a lil unnerving. I can only imagine how a married guy with a lot to lose would feel.

But then again they only have themselves to blame. This forum has a wealth of information with regards to almost everything we need to know but guys still dont use it.

Hell when i was married i even had a cheapie punting car not registered on my name cos i was so paranoid that i could possibly be blackmailed via my vehicle number plates.

Thats true Lesley.

So when this guy called me he was specific about " a lady in Boksburg" that had laid charges against me.

After i ended the call i was a bit annoyed cos being a Durban resident i had only been in contact with one lady in Gauteng so i called her.

And it turns out her phone was stolen. I double checked our whatsapp conversations from a week earlier and saw that her whatsapp security code had changed meaning she had changed phones thus proving her story.

So ladies pleeeeez be careful with those work phones. And married punters: punting sim, punting sim, punting sim

Exactly we cannot and must not let valuables lay around when we have clients.

However, one lady was lured by a gent who offered to pay her uber for an out booking. He and the uber driver were working together and robbed her of her phone.

Next thing they were blackmailing her clients and she was getting calls left right and center after she did a sim swap. Clients thought she had given their details.

I saw another similar situation on the forum of a guy who offered to pay an uber and the lady got robbed.

There are obviously clients falling for this scam, otherwise this would have died down already, instead it is increasing.

Thats true @Miss Red and the same also applies to us punters.

Guys who have so much to lose enter this world and make silly mistakes. I really dont get why proffessional people who are so thorough in their respective occupations dont apply the same logic in this potentialy dangerous world.

i was thinking about this and it must have been so easy for these scammers up until it started being reported here on ESA. They must have made a killing already.

If u are not using a punting sim once the scammer has your number truecaller reveals your real name.

Then he calls you and adresses u by your real name and you already on the back foot.

Police sounds in the background: easily obtained from youtube or tons of other sites.

Use your own car to
a booking: you risk being identified by your number plates. With so many e-hailing services available in major cities in SA there is no longer a need to have a punting car like i did when i had more to lose.

etc, etc, etc

To be one step ahead of a criminal u need to think like a criminal - actually this applies to every day life in SA not just this world

I agree and probably your post would apply to those high profile guys who are living secret lives and have something to lose.

Fortunately I'm not one of those.
Yes I have a reputation and yes I'm self employed and to some I might be considered rich.

My post is not about hiding your number and using different cars or trying to get a booking with a condom over your real head before putting one in your small head.

My post and point is that in all these years of punting, this is the first time I've received this shit.

All I'm doing is trying to make people aware of whats going on.

And lastly to WG's, I have not and will never book another girl from that house ever again so besides phones being stolen, check out the venues you work from.

Team work stops corruption and I see ESA community as a team.so if we report and talk about this, even on PM, we can put a dent in this nonsense.
