Thank god Blaza is here to povide us with perspective. Since we are all just on a sex site and can't think for ourselves or allowed to discuss our opinions, on an open forum. Thank you Blaza.

You welcome, I'm glad I could help

I guess it's for best that these useless debates are happening on a porn site where they can't really cause problems. At least we hope that's the case.

I think it would help to put things in perspective. The presidents of both Brazil and the USA both publicly downplayed the threat of the virus and took little action in the beginning. Look at the numbers there in comparison to ours. Also if the rate of infection remains low, getting back to normal will happen a lot quicker. Government response hasn't been perfect but I think it's been good overall because Cyril takes subject matter experts more seriously and I do too more than I take the opinions of random people on a porn site

Makes me wonder if they decided to get the worst out of the way now so they can get back on track faster now that you mention it. Our own government said themselves that the worst is yet to come and we're just delaying it to prepare. Hope we're prepared enough.

When looking at the death rate, it should be done, on cases with an outcome, and not on the total infected to get the real picture. Although the number of deaths maybe low the possibility that there will be more deaths between already identified cases without an outcome is very high.

If 2000 cases had an outcome of which a 100 die, the ratio is 1 in 20 that could potentially die, which is much worse than the when it is only measured against totally infected people. 100 vs 5000 = 1 in 50.

We all are being financially effected, but there are ways to recover from that, but they have unfortunately not yet developed a way to bring back the death.

I disagree. Why ignore all the "unidentified" cases? That makes the death rate look much higher! Granted, some of those positive now, may still die. But ignoring all those without symptoms (and/or not even tested) just make the death rate look artificially high.

Well at the moment there are 1 277 104 closed cases world wide, with 234 123 deaths (about 18%). But who know how accurate this is, I can't imagine that all the countries focus on giving out stats of recoveries at the moment, they are busy dealing with active cases. And some countries do not test again if someone has recovered after testing positive the first time, so if you look at their "stats" it looks like nobody has recovered. The point is we only hopefully the true stats in a few years

Unlikely here in the UK, even if for example the person dies of terminal cancer, but had a sniffle, it is classed as a 'covid related death'. That obviously skews the figures unbelievably high for covid 'related' deaths

Difficult one.
One of the things we don't know is how many people have the virus who are not showing symptoms BUT can spread the virus?
Thoese being referred after screening are only the people with symptoms. This COULD be good news as if many more people are infected than we kniw of, we MIGHT be building herd immunity.
For a sobering activity, read about the Spanish flu pandemic or watch it on you tube. Also, compare the infection and death rate in Sweden with no lockdown to its near neighbours who did lockdown.
Much as I am very sceptical of our government, I believe they are doing the right thing.. I.e. slow down the rate of infection so we can better cope with what is coming. But yes, they seriously need to balance this with the negative effect on the economy. Glad I don't have to make THAT decision.
Makes you drink doesn't it?? Sigh.. if only :(
