Can anyone that has any knowledge on repairing a samsung A5. I was told it is the motherboard. How much would it cost and is it worth it. Also looking for someone that can do the repair.

You should check exactly what is wrong with the phone. The motherboard is a broad term. For example, if it's just not charging then it's the charging board, which connects to the motherboard. While a MoBo can be costly, the charging board is really inexpensive. If you don't have a friend or someone who can help and sort out your phone at a cheaper cost, then this is your option: The phone retails at R4200. Just see if it costs more then half the price of the phone to fix. If it does, you fill find people who will buy your phone at half price as is (damaged) and with that you can buy a more recent entry level smartphone and it will cost you the same price for a brand new phone.
