Given everything that is happening on the forum this morning, what measures do you have in place to make sure you are protected? Ladies, the work phone. Gents, do you clear your history on your computer? Do you keep your punting phone clean?

Punter phone/number. If you have a dual sim Samsung and wanna use Whatsapp, install a second whatsapp in the secure vault. You can turn off its notifications and your punter sim can be put in when necessary only


ALWAYS use incognito. It logs you out once you close the tabs.

Fingerprint lock on my phone as well as to access my work watsapp, secure folder with a crazy long password to store anything else I wouldn't want anyone to see. Other than that my phone is either in my hand or in my handbag.

In light of this morning's drama, I would say there is not much we as wgs can do if guys don't clear things from their side. I can delete chats, emails, call records as often as I like but if the guys dont delete on their side, its of no use. My work number is my business and I cannot take responsibility for what someone else's partner does.
Not enough guys are clearing their tracks. I one day got a call from a punter's wife, Truecaller gave the name and I recognised the surname. This guy took a forum chat off the forum and on whatsapp and didn't delete the chat and wifey obviously found it. He got into shit over a chat about sometime he couldn't even afford. It was all his imagination. A few months ago same guy was missing for a day or 2 and had his family all worried. They found him at some drug-using wg. A client warned me about it just in case the family should randomly call wgs lookihng for him. I dunno why he thought to let me know cos I wouldn't have thought they knew one another
Guys get caught out when they forget to cover their tracks. A punting phone is good and well provided its switched off and nothing is saved on it.
A buddy of mine always kept a phone in the car cos he regularly ran put of battery life and that was his backup and punting phone, not that his gf ever asked too many questions.I think the approach should be we have to think of solutions before problems arise.

Im pretty sure the guy thought he was being careful, as we all think we are. But its scary that the wife bypassed his passwords and whatever protection he thought he had.

I often wonder why SPs use WhatsApp for messaging etc. It has the weakest form of security on the market.

There are lots more secure apps that are exclusively "web-based" meaning as a user you wont need to install an actual app on a phone (no strange apps on phone) so you can still use your main phone - logged off you can hand your phone over to the MRS and it will have zero trace(s) on it!

These apps dont require numbers to communicate, you can delete messages on either side of the chat (control of blackmail), none of the 2 people in a chat can screenshot messages/download shared pictures (they would need to take a photo with another phone, you should not be seeing someone like that) and chat self-destructs after you shut the app down.

Exactly. I don't want it known and also punter phone provides some protection from scammers. But if it did come out. I'm just a single guy who isn't quite ready to date again yet. Who cares.
