So how does this work? Do the new ladies have a function to tell them their chosen name is already taken?

Are duplicate names an attempt to piggy back on existing lady's fame or are these duplicates created without the new one knowing?
Some of us are old ballies and you sometimes confuse us when you duplicate
Is it unreasonable to expect new ladies to choose an original name?
Am I the only one that follows a comment or something only to realise later its a post by someone other than who you thought when you clicked?

I only found out a while after i started that there are a couple of other Vickys on the site...*palm in face*...i had no option that told me that name was already taken.

I feel the same... As it's not long that Liza needs to become "Lady Liza" or "Miss Liza" or "Liza-G" or even "Elyza" as to many come and go as Lisa and Liza...

But surely you have the search option to put in a name and see if any pop up,

But suppose if they are inactive it wouldn't show them

I dont know how the other girls started...but in my case the photographer came for the first shoot, filled in the form, asked what name i want to use and thats it. I only went on the forum after my profile was activated for the first time...guess i can change the name but so far all is good with it even if i am not the only one!

I think once you have a name its very hard to change it, people already know you are Vicky and to change would cause confusion

Thats what I did when i started advertising on the net. I figured since I was new on the net it didn't matter what I called myself. But some ladies purposefully choose names of reputable advertisers. Funny how they never choose the names of ladies of ill- repute..... so its not as random as they claim. One with a very similar build to mine advertised in Benoni a while ago. She claimed it was her birth name (a black lady)..... not likely but not impossible. She had numerous ads with a variety of names. Guys told me they had called her thinking it was me. Well when she couldnt string together an english sentence they hung up. So she was wasting her own time.

What @BbwNadia said. Exactly that, it sucks because some girls take their time to create a name and persona then someone else just comes and try to snatch it.

I started off as Donna and I was the only Donna then, at least at that time. With some more common names, I guess it would be more understandable to find namesakes. But when the name is exceptional then, I'm just going to say it would mean a girl has an admirer- not flattering though. Just gotta console yourself and remember, "I'm the one with the substance" =D . And oh, sometimes very new girls don't have names ready and I know at least one photographer that just had to pick them one.
