So I have a serious case of fomo and after having read the countless posts about the Netflix series, "Sex Life" - I could not help but start watching it.

I also read that everyone is drooling over Billie (the main character) and I just don't get it? Is it the escapism or the fantasy of her character? What is it gents?

As for the ladies on here, do you prefer the husband, Cooper or the bad boy ex Brad?

Heres my opinion... I am much more of a Francesca kind of guy. It has nothing to do with her having that petite Asian prowress. I just think that there is absolutely nothing Sexier than a woman who is assertive and can hold her ground... she does not simply give in to her need. She is strong and stands in her power. I find her extremely sexy. Billie seems desperate and so easily allured. I just actually can not stand her character and I find her entire romance with the toxic ex so petty.

As for the toxic ex, I also don't think he's that great either and the entire show just makes me sick overall. But I haven't finished watching it.

What does everyone else think? Apparently from what I have seen, it's been quite a hype in the purple world

I haven't watched it but will keep your perspective in mind. I'm always interested in a different perspective.

@Frank White, When you give it a watch, please give me your feedback. I just can't for the life of me understand what the hype around Billie is?

I've started watching and I'm with you on Billie. I hate it when people get involved and even marry people because they give them stability, a white picket fence and because they are good people, but you actually want to still have your cake and eat it. She is actually not in love with her husband no matter what story they want to paint, but rather the idea of what he represents. She should have stuck with her bad guys. She knew Cooper wasn't on that level sexually from the start so this is nothing new. She knew what she was getting into and now she wants to complain. Cry me a river. Cooper was no Hugh Hefner and she knew that. Cooper is also to blame for not being in touch with his wife's needs. But from what I can see he has been consistent so she knew what she was getting into. That doesn't give her a reason for fucking around behind his back. She is no victim.

By the way, I don't judge people and how they want to live their life. But live your life however you want it without repercussions to others. You want to have multiple partners and Kama Sutra sex, go for it. Just don't get together withl someone because they cause you very little problems, provide financial security, but then you still want to fuck around and then blame them for being boring.

I only just started so maybe my views are too preliminary.

@Frank, thank you for your feedback. Think you may just become a pen pal ;)

Each of their characters perturbed me quite a bit and I understand that everyone in this world is on their own journey and level of consciousness.

I absolutely agree with you, live your life as you please, so long as it does not cause another harm.

I obviously am not that vanilla either, otherwise I would not be a SP.

However, it is really troubling that people would make a series that promotes women being seduced by narcissism and justifying it because they were "in love."

I think each character, with the exception of Francesca, is a victim of their own internal conflict. We live in a world, where we need the media to promote self love - where women like Billie walk away from toxic situations because they love themselves enough and men like Brad can overcome childhood trauma, be vulnerable enough to face it. Hurt people hurt people... I get it. But strength lies in vulnerability and you need to breakdown to breakthrough.

I found the entire plot to be based upon fantasy and there was not enough character development either.

As for Cooper, it is sad that good men are portrayed as the "losers" of this world. A man like Cooper works hard, provides for his family, is willing to work things out, try new things to spice up his love life, remains relatively composed after realizing that he wasted a good 8 years of his life being a rebound for someone he barely knows. Yes, he too should have the self respect to walk away. But there are not many people in the world like Cooper. Yet, both men and women vouch for the Brad's and Billie's of this world and it's okay, because well, shame they had some sad back story.

Francesca is still a winner in my eyes. Bad boss vibes, integrity, self respect, class and absolute elegance. Sounds like my kind of gal.

Ps. I am also a writer and an activist, so I am just trying to understand those in the purple world.

@TR, I can't disagree with anything that you've said regarding each of the characters including the absolutely weak and predictable plot. They could have done a much better job and given the characters and story a lot more depth. There is nothing new, interesting or different to the all too familiar story line and I feel that at the end of the day they make excuses for the behavior of consenting adults and trying to give us what they think is a different perspective to find sympathy with the indefensible actions of the characters. It's also unfortunately a sad reality that there are many Coopers out there and they should have rather focused on bringing the message across that treating people like that in this manner is not acceptable. You cannot have your bread buttered on both sides at the expense of others.

Somewhat of a lookalike to Billie but the SP is sexier as can be seen better on her WhatsApp profile picture:
