Not a pleasant topic for a Monday, but then neither is this disease.

I have been diagnosed with prostate cancer (a recurrence after my first diagnosis and partially successful treatment two years ago). I have started treatment and it is not pleasant!

This is not a request for sympathy! This is a plea / reminder / warning to all the guys out there: get your PSA tested annually and get your DRE (digital rectal exam or finger up butt) done! You should be starting from 45!

I recommend going to a urologist directly, but your GP may be able to assist.

However you do it - please get yourself tested!

Sending hugs... wishing you speedy recover. You have beaten this once i see no reason why you can not to do it again.;)

Guys listen to 2old2... i have said this many times from 40 onwards guys should start to have annual check ups and start taking supplements to keep their prostate healthy.. just like ladies should have annuals for breastcancers and cervical cancers.

Strongs my friend and you are dam right. Men are very scared of these tests. Likely I'm not. In fact not anymore because of a special massage girl on esa.

Miss Red is absolutely spot on again.

Just to ad on to this.
Regular prostate massage will reduce your risk for prostatitis but there's no proof that it could be beneficial in managing the risk of prostate cancer.

In fact if you do have cancer, prostate massage can make it worse.

Having someone who is very familiar with your prostate can help and tell you if they detect any changes in the size of your prostate, however nothing can replace the annual doctor's apointment.

I do prostate massage basically every day of my life and have been doing it since 2015
I can tell when something doesn't feel quite right and usually do tell clients to have it checked out BUT remember no one but medical professionals is adequately qualified to give you 100% peace of mind.

2old2
Wishing you strongs.
You will be in my thoughts.

It's not nearly as bad as it used to be 10 years ago.

Just do it

I was naughty and waited until my late 50s before I got tested.

@ 2old2 - I want to say everything of the best

@ all other punters - I want to say please go for a test! The sooner the better

Keep the faith, stay strong and positive.

Aunty Sage is right. Have it checked regularly preferably monthly by an experienced massage lady but also yearly by your doctor. This is the predicament I am currently in though. I am used to having a raging hard on when a massage lady massages mine and when I see my (rather attractive lady doctor), well, let's just say I have to actively make sure the chickens don't cum home to roost
