This is something to think about.

All projections based on known numbers now as per some analysts.

So we had about 200 000 test done. Of those 200 000 about 5000 tested positive.

Let's say the same amount per 200 000 applies to rest of population that had not been tested yet.

We could actually be sitting with+/- 1 and a half million positive cases right now across S.A. of which about 30 000 will end up in icu and die because of it.

Looking at it like this.. Changes the picture a bit.

Still even using this.. the numbers are still a lot lower than the originally predictions millions dying.

Is it worth letting a economy die and letting people starve and potentially having civil unrest in weeks to come.?

Some people should never attempt to be statisticians or being placed in a leadership position of our country.

0 Deaths reported due to starvation for the lat 35 days of Lock-down. So for the next 365 days, the rate will stay 0.

I think the general acceptance of the measures is quickly going the other way. Population being treated like children.

And by putting it out here I would like to hear what us normal people think about what is said.

My personal opinion is that the numbers was wrong from the start. Total lockdown was a mistake as far as our economic health goes. There was less crippling ways to handle this.

Making mask wearing mandatory from day one and making business enforce this if they want to be open, would have been better than shutting everything down. If mask wearing was mandatory from start a lot less people would have gotten infected at shops ect.

If you had a choice? Wear a mask or stay home? Most would opt for wearing the masks I am sure. Because most South Africans can't afford to stay home. And our economy can't afford to stay shut.

The first lockdown was maybe needed as we knew very little about the Chinese flu but nothing more

Masks and social distancing will work and allow people to still earn a living.

Louise there are too many variables to get a definitive answer
1) was the testing done properly
2) Was the screening done properly
3) Were the screeners qualified
The questions go on and on

The UK has been found wanting badly, so in my opinion no definitive answer
