@Armani and others: So will you vote out this pathetic government?
There is a saying: "You get the government you deserve".
For 30 years our elections have been more like race censuses than true elections.
A large chunk (not all though) of our middle class cannot compete on merit. So they get Government jobs and can therefore not afford to vote out the ANC. AN EVEN larger proportion is bought by measly social grants, and also fears voting out the ANC.
So we remain stuck with them...

Or will it change? Will the majority realise that 2029 will be the very last chance of not repeating what has happened almost throughout Africa, and particularly Zimbabwe.

The odds are not good, but one can hope....
But if you have savings, and you are not taking as much you can offshore, you are as stupid as those continuing to vote for the ANC/MK/EFF.

At least the rest of Africa could move South...Until we chased them out!
But we are at the southern tip. There is now nowhere else to go when everything has been looted and destroyed....

But voting EFF/MK/ANC will give me land for free. s/

Granted the DA is in fucking shambles and truly a shadow of its formal self.

Honestly I don't know who I will vote for but probably the DA because rather the devil I know then the one I don't.

Apart from the DA, there is also IFP, ACDP, BOSA, and probably many others. But fuck knows, if you look North and thinks the answer is somewhere along ANC/MK/EFF you probably deserve the hardship that is coming. Zim will become our utopia...

We should have avoided the sad situation of women and children freezing in makeshift refugee camps in mid winter

Going back to the original post I know of at least two non South African working girls who are legally in South Africa - one by marriage and the other who came as a child with her parents who are here legally

Undoubtedly there are also working girls who are not here legally - I am not sure how much business would improve for local girls if they left

Stopping immigration corruption (people getting passports stamped by paying a bribe) would be a good starting point

I hope to never lose my humanity so I feel sympathy for such girls and for car guards from places like Rwanda who came here out of desperation

USA has the most anti immigration President ever - yet I believe that illegal immigration from Central America to the USA is still continuing

Whilst I agree something needs to change, we will not end up like the rest of Africa.

ANC is nowhere near as bad as Zanu PF. The people in power are fat cats who are mostly happy with the status quo. Every once in a while we'll have this sideshow as someone tries to jostle for power (I don't say that to diminish the damage caused to ordinary people's lives but that's how they see us).

There's just too much money to be lost for someone to go full Mugabe hence March for March was a whimper. Zuma probably went 60% Mugabe and got his ass handed to him.

It will take an all out civil war for the country to collapse and we are too comfortable as a society for that to happen.

The people that genuinely want to see the country burn are in the minority. Even the people that are genuinely racist/xenophobic are not willing to risk their Woolies food because of their hate.

Call me naive but there's a bright future for this country

Let me make something clear...I know because of my consistency on this thread it may look like I hate foreigners which is why you are asking me this question. I don't hate foreigners, all I'm saying is No to illegal immigrantion and I'm not changing my mind. In every post I have been consistent on the word ILLEGAL. I didn't say foreigners must leave our country, the emphasis is on illegal immigrants. I befriend foreigners and I even sleep with them, I have dated them too but I'm not into criminals, I have a type.
Anyways to answer your question my answer is a big fat NO simply cos " my friend" is not my type, I'm not attracted to them...

Our constitution is too strong for the country to fail like zim. But Zuma through Mk wants to dismantle the constitution and return to feudal law and he's back by foreign interference. Russia because Zuma suits them. Israel for the heck of it because they want to destabilise the country that took them to the ICC.

As for leaky border posts, Home Affairs has introduced or is rolling out proper secure passport stamps. Each officer hastier own stamp which is meant to be locked in a safe overnight. Whether it will stop corrupt officials stamping passports in and out as they always have who nows. If that happens at the right time of year its just too easy to cross the Limpopo and they need proper modern security - cameras, drones etc to monitor.
