Thank you to all for today. As i want to share the journey wider, i will start a new thread on the emotional side of things and a short summary.
But here in the midst of the team of the day a few logistical things please.
1. Rather use wa. In forum things fall through cracks beween threads, hijacks, detours and various conversation lines
2. Pm inboxes take forever to follow a conversation so please rather wa so your stuff can be in one place.
3. If you tell me here you will wa me and you dont give a ref that side, i do not know who i am talking to
4. We are not giving money. Please dont ask. The aim here is survival, so things like disposable nappies sounds like luxury to a dad that raised kids on cloth nappies. I am not attacking!!! Just giving some idea of what drove the decision making.
5. The team of ladies that did the buying had lots of challenges. (Big shout out!!)
Limits per customer on some items, no stock on others and always long lines made their day difficult
6. Due to stock limits we ended up with 21 packages of close enough R670 each.
7. If you know you are on the list please stay close to your phone. We try to deliver batches per area so if you are unreachable when we get that side of the world it does not help (if it was daytime fair enough but i dont think at 2030 you were still working. What we cant deliver by tomorrow is too laye so please help us to help you
8. Murphey is alive! Some of you offered help but the match between where you are and where the ladies are makes it impractical to use your kind offer. If i did not use you PLEASE dont think your offer is not appreciated! It is most welcome. The practicalities were just not aligned to use your offer. believe me, i am more sorry than you are :)
9. If possible we will try to look into food vouchers for later in the time should practicality and availability of funds make it possible. Please! The vouchers are dream stuff, not a promise. Please dont count on it.
10.i can never fit.my fingers on the keys so i type terrible under the best of circumstances. Today was probably worse. Sorry, suck it up ;)
Less forgivable is where i was abrupt or curt or whatever. Please understand context and dont take offence.

Today I replenished my larder with bread, cheese, butter, eggs, fish, flesh and fowl as well as an assortment of fruits and vegetables to hunker down for the next three weeks.

I shall be entertained by the most sublime literature in my well stocked library.

Ever and anon I shall tend to my vegetable garden and my little orchard of lemon, pomegranate and avocado trees.
