suzook

Let me, once again, take another leaf out of Russian Bridgitte's book and thank you, for providing us with interesting and inspiring reading.

Your "...Beautiful poem.." post has reminded me that there are many in the world who have far bigger problems than I have and that I ought, constantly, to be counting my blessings.

Thank you also for your security post. Wow, the criminals are really becoming resourceful. That's scary stuff.

@suzook....Thank you for posts that I find worthwhile reading. I took your "Eagle" advice to heart and during my convalescence frequently reminded myself that I am the re-inventing-eagle-in-the-cave. It certainly played a big part in my recovery. I also have implemented the lesson of the female eagle, to the point where I told a person that story and thus straight-out spelled out what my expectations would be. It empowered me beyond measure.
Gratitude is the key to the universe. Please keep posting. Kisses, Mynx

Mr Bond, Sir, thank you for your responses. I can assure you, they are met with much appreciation too. Yes, in life, we tend to take too much for granted and forget to show appreciation for even the smallest of things, as they seem 'insignificant' until we realise just how valuable they actually are.

@ Storm and all the other lovely, purple-planet-people who have responded, thank you too for being so awesome and for taking time out to actually read these posts.

I know, certain lengthy posts go unnoticed whilst others are read a few times, to understand it better.

Thank you to all of you once again.

Treat yourself with the upmost respect... watch the company that you keep, you can't hang out with just anyone...watch your mouth, don't talk too much, let your words be like that of gold, very valuable... watch your step, it's better to walk alone and know where you're going than it is to walk in a circle, trying to make friends... Think about it.

The ..."E"... life !!!!!

In this world of E-mails, E-ticket, E-paper, E-recharge, E-transfer and the latest E-Governance...

which makes e-verything e-asy for e-veryone e-veryday.

"E" is the most Eminent letter of the English alphabet.

Men or Women don't exist without "E".

House or Home can't be made without "E".

Bread or Butter can't be found without "E".

"E" is the beginning of "existence" and the end of "trouble."

It's not at all in 'war' but twice in 'peace'

It's once in 'hell' but twice in 'heaven'.

"E" represented in 'Emotions'

Hence all emotional relations like Father,Mother,Brother, Sister, wife & friends have 'e' in them.

"E" also represents 'Effort' & 'Energy'

Hence to be 'Better' from good both "e" 's are added.

Without "e", we would have no love, life, wife, friends or hope

And 'see', 'hear', 'smell', or 'taste' as 'eye' 'ear', 'nose' & 'tongue' are incomplete without "e".

So... GO with "E" but without E-GO.

Month of October... if you see pink ribbons or balloons around, be thankful to all of the women who have fought against cancer and won and have made breast cancer a national conversation.

Breast cancer awareness is an effort to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education on symptoms and treatment. Hopefully that greater knowledge will lead to earlier detection of breast cancer, which is associated with higher long-term survival rates, and will produce a reliable, permanent cure.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women other than any other cancers. But millions of women are surviving the disease thanks to early detection and improvements in treatment.

There are different symptoms of breast cancer, and some people have no symptoms at all. Symptoms can include any change in the size or the shape of the breast, pain in any area of the breast, nipple discharge other than breast milk (including blood), and a new lump in the breast or underarm. It can help find breast cancer early and easier to treat' therefore talk to your doctor about which breast cancer screening tests are right for you, and when you should have them.

Some Facts About Breast Cancer:

* Men also get breast cancer, but it is not very common. Less than 1% of breast cancers occur in men.

* Most breast cancers are found in women who are 50 years old or older, but breast cancer also affects younger women. About 10% of all new cases of breast cancer in the United States are found in women younger than 45 years of age.

* Breast Cancer is not contagious. You cannot catch breast cancer or transfer it to someone else's body

Some facts of Jo'burg:

Jozi (Jo'burg, Johannasburg) was founded and named today the 4 October in 1886. Though it is 130 years old this year, Joburg is still one of the youngest cities in the world

Maybe you knew this; maybe you didn't. Johannesburg is the largest landlocked city in the world. Due to its rapid expansion and placement in the middle of all the 'rands' there is no in-land city that even compares to Jozi in size. Sure there are bigger cities over all but they are either coastal or built on a lake or river.

The town of Johannesburg in California, USA was named after our city. The town's founders were miners who worked in Egoli during the mining boom. They managed to make enough cash here to move back to America and start a town, although there are only around 200 people in that town.

Cake Takes Longer to bake In Jozi

Yup, you read that correctly. Because we are situated 2 000 meters above sea level water takes longer to boil, and because of all the moisture in the ingredients used to bake a cake, it literally takes longer. In fact, water boils 60 seconds faster in Cape Town than it does in the City of Gold.

Happy Birthday, Joburg!
