When everyone comes to your parents house(all 25 of them) and sit on the living room floor every Tuesday night to watch "Dallas" at 9pm on TV,you're in South Africa,my china.

When you boycott school and blom at da assembly whole day instead,singing with 100's of other kids "Mandela Mandela,show us the way to Freedom",until the gaataas rock up to moer us laaitjies bleeding and lock us up for a day or 30,then you've
experienced a day in the life of most ordinary South Africans.

@Kim..hehehe well done you have really gotten us all smiling and remembering why we love being south African;)

This made me smile... All the anties around would rock up to our house now and then to watch something with my mom and gran on our big colour tv.. .. I can't remember what it was they watched though...they all use to sit and crochet or knit at the same time.. And some weekends my dad would take that same big colour tv out to the garage and the men would braai and watch sports or something..and we kids would be watching in the house on the small black and white tv in the kitchen with the women making salads and stuff.( The fiddling with that arial to get the picture just right caused many a frustration back then, can still here my mom say slower and my dad being in the roof shouting that he ain't even moving the damn thing)
