This is directly comparable to the sales and services of any other service. I think most with business sense would understand this.

People need to understand what you offer to buy, obviously we are on the purple site so are looking for services but it's just as obvious that the services are different from provider to provider.

With any kind of marketing you will get "leads" at different stages of the funnel -people ready to buy right now, people who have been considering buying but have something holding them back or people who are just starting that research phase. (A simplification)

Here the site is the marketing, when you are speaking to a provider it's technically sales territory.

Take any example of business, salesperson A only closes people who are ready to buy right then and there, doesn't put effort into other leads. Salesperson B closes those people but also nurtures those potentials until they do become clients/customers.

If we plotted this on a graph Salesperson A puts the least amount of effort and gets the best result at first, since they only focus on this. Salesperson B initially exerts more effort and may get a lower result but the graph compounds and they will soon outperform.

I don't think most people have the drive to be person B.

100% but also I'm business,vypu usually have sales people who only need to be person A as they have a whole marketing team that plays person B so they get it all so to speak. Over here, it's a 1 woman band so she needs to be person A&B so be successful just like most entrepreneurs starting out, you have to do all aspects of the business.
