Wendy [if you are even a lady], I hate to tell you this, but you are ill-informed about the adult production scene in South Africa. I read you initial post before you edited it with 'nevermind'.

1. The Kwaai Naai movie was by all accounts a great success. I have had fruitful discussions with the director and he has been happy with the sales thus far and is planning the filming of an interracial sequal. Although, I do feel he got shafted by the company who is handling distribution.

2. His distribution company is now in the process of doing a second production run of the movie, as all the initial stock has been sold out. We are talking of thousands of copies, not a mere 200 like you stated.

3. We, here in Cape Town have had many serious porn star wanna-be's apply for castings. I can tell you in all honesty, most have been time wasters.

4. This week my production partner and I are meeting with XXXXXX XXXXXXXXX, a famous Los Angeles adult film producer and director right her in CPT. He will be in CPT while on holiday and will be discussing possible collaboration and international distribution. We take him seriously, and visa versa.

5. We have another local distribution company ready to take stock of the film we produce and hit the press with the right kind of advertising to make it a success.

So, although you may have apprehensions about our ability as South Africans to enter the adult movie market, I can tell you were are far down the track in preparations to make this happen big time.

PS: I'm not going to let the cat out of the bag as yet, but three of the top rated CPT WG's are have given their assurance of staring in our first production.

I've a question or two Lick, been reading the requirements and whatnot on the link, have been doing alot of other reading on necessary requirements for 'porn stars' in general and what's expected of them etc.

What I'm wondering is... if you cast a guy, does he have to be built like a house, blond and blue eyed? I'm also trying to get a good idea on the cock size requirement, on outlawdvd they reckon minimum 15cm. When a caster looks at a dude, how important is cock size? I'm not saying 15cm is unreasonable or anything of the sort I'm simply trying to get an idea of what a decent porn size cock is at the end of the day and how it relates to say, filming.

I'm seriously considering applying and I meet all the stated requirements but I'm not built like a house, I'm built like an athlete, toned muscle from years of squash, tennis and cycling. Which is why I'm wondering.

Also is it better to shave off most of the overall body hair or just leave it? I know about the bush trimming requirements.

Well, Wile E. Fax, it really depends of the casting director. I can tell you that if you are average, you have no worries with WANTED. In mainstream US and European porn, so many actors are huge and not a reflection of 'normal'. Because of this, the vast majority of guys who buy and watch porn feel inadequate or that they are small in comparison.

The most important thing we need to know, when casting a male, is that he has stamina, and does not shoot his load in the first ten minutes of filming. A male actor must also be well disciplined too. What I mean by this is that during a shoot the director will tell you to stop in yuor tracks during a round, and decide on another angle, to fix lighting, etc. In this instance, you have to STOP and be able to continue from where u left off.

Being male adult film actor is demanding and hard work (no pun intended). Remember, a 20 minute scene can take a whole morning to get right.

Also, you will probably come twice in a scene. The first one not recorded, and the second making the crucial money shot.

If you are built like you say you are, that is perfect.

Regarding shaving

You can shave it all off if you like, or you can leave a small amount of hair at the top of your penis, no longer than 5mm or a Nr 2.

Body hair, if on your shoulders and back, should preferably be removed. Veet does this in no time, with no fuss.

I have just started watching the BBC documentary series ''The Dark Side of Porn''. One episode was on ''Porn Virgins'', people just starting out in porn. They followed 2 girls and a guy. When the guy went to go do his audition the casting director had organised for a few other guys to audition as well. The Casting director was just looking for a guy whose dick worked on camera. Of the four guys trying out that day, only one was able to actually get it up AT ALL.

So... the BIG hurdle to cross is being able to actually GET wood *on demand* with all the cameras, lights and miscellaneous people about. Once you can do that, then you will need to worry about stop and starting and coming twice, etc.
