Does Hillbrow even have homes which can be possibly destroyed by anyone? Hillbrow is already a shithole with hijacked buildings created by Ogas who call it little Lagos " mini Nigeria". There's nothing like protesters who threw stones at anyone infact the drug lords hiding in hijacked buildings tried to provoke the protesters and it didn't work. In the midst of it they shot a South African. The marches were peaceful however the illegal immigrants were trying to cause havoc. If you didn't set your foot at Atleast one of the marches to back up your allegations or you saw the incited violence by protesters with your bare eyes then there's no accusation you can throw based on what you read on tabloids that spread lies everyday...
Here's the Hillbrow march below, I'll come back with the video of the Malawians who don't want to go back home and were even stripping for cops at that time they were not provoked. Every action made by protesters yesterday the law was present. Can everyone go commit illegal activities in their own countries please and respect South Africa.

I work for a company that owns billions in SA infrastructure, we had a national control centre set up in our offices comprising private security firms, national police and specialist tactical support staff.

Anyway, the incidents were few and far between. There were instances of looting of foreign owned stores which were lock but without any other protection. These are mainly opportunistic incidents. There were no attacks on or killing of people linked to protesters.

So all in all govt did a great job. I saw first hand the actual events unfold and honestly, there were no deaths linked to protesters yesterday.

Sometimes we need to acknowledge good work and even the protesters were well organized and avoided killing, looting etc.
This was a good day for the country

These ones think that they have legal rights to protest in South Africa without documents. The disrespect...even showing the cops their grey bums whilst at it and South Africans are evil when they say they tired

Hillbrow, Yeoville and Jeppestown had incidents of protesters who threw rocks at buildings with the intention to break windows and they were successful. Very unnecessary behaviour to cause damage to property in such a malicious manner, especially because the police were there but couldn't do much.

The police stations in those areas were very busy with property owners opening criminal cases so that can at the very least submit claims for SASRIA cover. The army was deployed in Hillbrow because the situation was quite tense but things stabilised later on in the evening.

Im many aspects it was a good day .

But, pray tell.

What next.

Especially to the very passionate South Africans who put the blame on their neighboring brothers and sisters and care not to take accountability for their part in crisis at hand.

It is like a child who doesn't get its box of sweeties when it demands it and blames the shop owner for not giving it to him/her.

I wonder if the toi toing is going to return . Totally annihilating the little bit of foreign investment that is holding on for dear life in SA.

What crisis are you referring to?

Yoh hayiii, we can't be explaining one thing everyday. Oksalayo, illegal migrants, fake document holders BATSAMAYE, HABORE GWA!!!
People must go back home and hold their governments accountable whilst making sure that they fix their travel documents and stop complaining in a foreign land when they failed complaining in their own countries.
If y'all pity illegal immigrants, please hoard them in your living rooms and spare bedrooms cos y'all have so much compassion.
Till one falls victim to undocumented foreigners and there's nothing you can do about it then you won't understand why some of us are so stern. The pain is deep
