If I read between the lines of his speech this lockdown will be extended with minor concessions to freedom of movement.

Scares me that everything he said.. grant increases.new grant. Financial help. Loans. Even the funding for the municipalities all had "for the next 6 months" line connected to it..

He also basically deployed the rest of the Sandf until almost end of June....

The majority of funding will be international. This will open up S.A. spending to international monitoring. Those with their hands in the cookie jar will eventually be caught out.

The increase in child grants?
This will be a problem in months to come. Our economy won't be able to sustain this in the long run. It will lead to bigger problems in the future.

The "Jobless" grant.. how will this be implemented? How will they screen and decide who gets that?

I would have been happier if he said their will be more people employed to do screening. And that there will be a fund to pay those people. This could have been an avenue to employ some of the unemployed now.

All roads to hell are paved with good intentions. And this is a good example of that.

Problem is that basically around 48% of the population will be unemployed! Think about where that leads us!

If our nation did not consist of so many Hooligans, he would not have had to deploy anyone. Unfortunately, more people are no exposed, to try and stop the spreading of the virus, and to safely deliver food to them.

And to top it all, they will have to go "cook" for themselves when they get home, can't grab junk food on their way back home.

It really is worrying. The 350 a month jobless grant won't make a difference now or in the long in long run. We need to get the economy back up and running as best we can corona or not.

Just glad that I not the president to make all these decisions in this tough times !!!

I am not a politician nor a businessman but my logic tells me .. no jobs .. no money .. no food .. LOOTING / CIVIL WAR :(

His biggest job now is to put some money in the pockets of the people to avoid chaos !!!

In all this doom and gloom, there are a silver lining, lots of opportunities will be available to make a living post COVID19. People should be ready to make use of every opportunity coming their way.

Now is the time for people to learn to "fish".
