Genuine connection does happen --- sometimes what starts off transactional turns into something real, whether you expect it or not.

The key is having the guts to actually communicate, because let's be honest, both sides are often scared... scared of rejection, or in her case, losing a regular.

I've actually met my best friend through this. We both eventually walked away from the industry and tried to figure life out together. It didn't work out in the end, but it had nothing to do with her past or the industry --- life unfortunately happened.

At the end of the day, we're all human. You can't always control how you feel, and when a real connection happens, it happens. Transactional or not, that part you can't switch off.

I dated a WG around 2002/2003. Lasted 18 months. Started off amazingly, we clicked, it was porper. She continued to work, I did not ask her to stop. She was 4 years older than me at the time (I was 26).
But, real relationship issues began to creep in. Relationship ended due to real couple issues, non of which were related to her work, surprisingly.

Been there, done that, and got the g-strings. Numerous times actually. And you realize it's just like dating a civilian ultimately, because SPs are also just normal women outside of this. However, given how you met through this world (being this industry) there are nuances; two of the most critical being money and whether the plan is for her to exit the industry (either through your financial maintanance or maybe she's working towards establishing something that can sustain her economically). But in terms of the social stigma (what if you bump into her client at your cousin's wedding?), that doesn't affect me.
