I could not disagree with you more, "basic members are not serious punters" and gold membership is "essential"?
Firstly, I have been a gold member a few times over and as a regular explorer of new ladies, it has made no difference to me. GM has its benefits, more to some than others, but it is not "essential" as you put it. Your opinion is exactly that, it is not a fact.
Secondly, my disappointing punts had nothing to do with the status of my membership. Poor service and low privacy? No chemistry etc? Gold membership will not save anyone from that.
It is okay to have your opinion on the matter but do not pass it off as facts. It is not essential to have GM to be deemed a serious punter and it is certainly not a "must" to obtain GM.

As a current GM I agree with Eziguy, I was a "Regular for over 10 years and I had some good, some bad punts, would it have made a difference being a GM, I doubt it, as back then there was NO PG area and the quality of devices back then to view pictures other than a PC was not great. It just created a "Click" which to this day those GMs still remain a "Click", oh also, back then if a GM found your response to his post not to his liking, well you got banned, it happened to me.
This time around with the devices we have, the pictures look better, and the PG area really does help a lot.
I have seen SPs with flawless professional pictures on their profiles, then they post a PG pic taken on their phones and let me tell you, it OPENS your eyes.
Many GMs have not renewed their memberships since the changes in the payment methods, even I did not want to renew mine for a long time.
