I'd say get your home issues fixed, or at least give it your best shot. If that fails and as long as you don't fall in love with an SP, punting is a far better option than having an affair. Punting should be only about sex, nothing more.

It is too easy and too satisfying to not do it again and again and maybe just once more and then maybe only once a month or maybe cut back to only once every two weeks or maybe if I stick to a budget and then it ends in 'ah fuckit' just do it whenever the urge strikes.
